PAIA and POPIA Manual for ByMedical & Scientific

This manual is prepared in accordance with Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA), and the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). It provides an outline of the types of records held by ByMedical & Scientific and the process to request access to such records.

3. Guide on How to Use PAIA

The Information Regulator has compiled a guide to assist individuals on how to exercise their rights under PAIA and POPIA. This guide is available in all official languages and can be accessed on the Information Regulator’s website: https://inforegulator.org.za/

4. Records Available in Terms of Other Legislation

ByMedical & Scientific holds records in accordance with the following legislation (where applicable):

5. Access to Records Held by ByMedical & Scientific

Requests for access to records must be made in accordance with the procedures laid out in PAIA. A request form is available for this purpose and can be obtained from the Information Regulator’s website or directly from ByMedical & Scientific.

In accordance with POPIA, ByMedical & Scientific processes personal information for legitimate business purposes, including but not limited to:

As per POPIA, data subjects have the right to:

ByMedical & Scientific implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access.
